Our Location
Be Connected to Nature and Community
An urban oasis
Vancouver Island sits on the Pacific west coast of Canada and is home to the Pacific Rim National Park as well as British Columbia’s first Provincial Park: Strathcona. These two natural wonders perfectly demonstrate the diversity of landscape: stunning beaches and rainforest on the coast, and tranquil lakes and mountains within the interior.
Almost 750,000 people live on Vancouver Island, sharing the land and waterways with orcas, bears, seals, cougars, elk, bald eagles, dolphins, whales and the biggest salmon you will ever see! With a backyard filled with towering fir trees, a sparkling creek and clean air, our location presents plenty of opportunity for biological and environmental study, as well as being a place of calm reflection and personal regeneration.
Brookes Westshore is a purpose-built and architecturally unique day and boarding school sitting on 4-acres nestled between the seaside of Victoria and rustic forestry of Charlie’s trail, the historic grounds of Royal Roads University, and the amazing sports facilities of the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre.
Our school’s location offers all the benefits of West Coast living along with easy access to our Provincial capital – Victoria – and close connections to Vancouver, the largest city in British Columbia and one of the most liveable cities in the world. The Westshore is the most rapidly growing community in Canada.
We chose the location of our campus with great care. Vancouver Island is our home. We love it here and we think you will love it here too.
Victoria
Victoria is called the Garden City and with good reason. The city offers a unique combination of old-world charm, modern luxuries, and outdoor adventure. It really has something for everyone.
One of our community’s goals is to be a national capital for sports. We currently boast Rugby Canada, the Canadian Premier League’s Pacific FC, Rowing BC, Boxing BC and the Boulder House Climbing Gym all a short distance from our school. We are also a fifteen-minute drive away from the Bear Mountain Resort – home to two Nicklaus designed golf courses and the largest indoor/outdoor clay court tennis facility in Canada.
The Westshore is also supporting the arts and culture in our community with the announcement of a soon-to-come Maritime Museum of B.C., conference centre and performing arts theatre all being developed right on our doorstep.
