Susan Xu

Director

Susan (Yuqing) was one of the three co-founders of Brookes Shawnigan Lake in 2009. Prior to working in education, she embarked on her first major business venture by founding Silver Computing in 1995, a small company which later became the foundation for WebEx Communications. WebEx became a leading platform for corporate meetings which emphasized and fostered international relationships. When WebEx was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2007, Susan resigned as VP of Operations to pursue new projects in education. Following the same goal of fostering international relationships, Susan decided to build an international school in Silicon Valley. Her hope is that it will foster the entrepreneurial spirit amongst students, who will take the opportunity to develop their potential with a healthy appetite for learning, risk-taking, and global leadership.

Through education, our governing board created a network of schools aiming to provide a global learning environment empowering the next generation of global change-makers who are not only confident and passionate in learning for themselves but are inspired to make a difference and help others.

Each Board member encourages and truly believes in the limitless potential of every Brookes student.

Brookes Education Group board members constitute the Board of the Brookes Westshore Society – the not for profit organization that is responsible for the running of Brookes Westshore School.
