Global Connections: Brookes Westshore’s Trip to Brookes Cambridge
Over the Spring Break a group of Brookes Westshore students, parents and staff took a flight to the United Kingdom to visit one of our growing number of schools around the world, Brookes Cambridge, through our Global Connections program.
Our students had the opportunity to participate in classes with Brookes Cambridge students and go sightseeing in Oxford, Cambridge, and London.
Once just a mention on the page of a History book, these famous destinations and historic landmarks became a reality for everyone as they walked through the University cities of Oxford and Cambridge and the castles of Norwich and Warwick (just to name a few). Students also challenged themselves to many activities including the Clip and Climb and indulged in chocolate sampling at Cadbury World.
The group ended the trip with a whirlwind tour of London taking in most of the major sites including an evening watching Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musical.
UK Trip Quotes:
Grade 9 Student, Claudia Chan
“I really enjoyed watching the musical Matilda! I also really liked the Brookes Cambridge’s campus, it’s really quiet and it reminds me of Shawnigan Lake! “
Grade 8 Student, Robert Dean
“The Imperial War Museum Duxford was awesome!”
